The Prodigies from Warner Bros comes out of no where, but looks kinda bad ass!!
NYC, Central Park, 2010. Five young teenagers are violently assaulted. But they’re not your average teenagers… they’re prodigies. The trauma of the assault incites them to lash out against the world in a cold and calculating way. The five chillingly brilliant minds come together to concoct a perfect revenge. The only person aware of the pending doom is Jimbo Farrar, a sixth prodigy, who has gathered them. As long as he fights against his five counterparts with all his might, there’s hope for the world. But should he turn over to their side, it’s only a matter of time before a disaster of apocalyptic proportions ensues…
Wow, I’ve not seen this Totoro figurine before, but I think it may be my favorite.
It’s also just reminded me that I have a Totoro on my keys. I’ll post a picture of it later, along with a little story which accompanies it.
X-Men Anime. Coming Soon.
Personally, I’ve not been a fan of Marvel’s previous jaunts into animated features just because they turn out to be fucking stupid fests. However, these new anime projects they’ve commissioned from Madhouse Studios have garnered my attentions. I’ve always enjoyed Japanese anime more than western efforts, if only because anime lends it’s self beautifully to comic book style action.
I’m hopeful, and this first look tease at the X-men franchise could be promising. The other titles being developed for anime are Blade, Wolverine and Iron Man and all are said to be under the watchful gaze of Warren Ellis.
"The X-Men are reunited following the death of a teammate, and are summoned by Charles Xavier to Japan following the abduction of Hisako Ichiki (Armor). There, they confront the U-Men, a lunatic cult that steals and transplants mutant organs to further strengthen their own army, and the battle for justice is on".
Hold on. GON - THE SERIES IS COMING OCT 2011!!!!!!
Korea based animation studio Daewon Media has revealed the first footage of its upcoming full CG animation series based on Masashi Tanaka’s acclaimed manga series Gon.
Is it me or does the American Dad episode “Rapture’s delight” blatantly reference Jesus Christ as Kenshiro from Fist of The North Star and no one caught it?
His arrival scene has him enter a bar after roaming the post apocalyptic wastelands of earth similar to FOTNS. The bar is filled with gangs and marauders who look just like the ones in FOTNS. He also arrives cloaked and hooded and his eyes even glow for a moment just as Kenshiro’s did in his arrival scene.
He never hits a Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken on anyone or anything but it cracked me up that they would reference such a rare gem of animation. Kudo’s to American Dad. They even stuck in some similar music.
Watch the whole episode below if you like. It’s total genius, but the Kenshiro bit kicks off around the 10min 45sec mark I think.
